Running is freedom! It allows a person to go places, meet people and achieve goals that otherwise might not happen. Running is adventure. Running is achievement. Running is community. Running is medicine!
As a running coach, I’m here to help you achieve your running goals and discover what Running is for you.
Perhaps you want to run faster or farther and conquer that next big race. Let’s go!! Or maybe your goal is comradery, travel, or maintaining good health… all are achievable via running.
Whether you are new to running or you’re coming back to recapture the love and competitive edge that running provides, I would welcome the opportunity to be your coach and get you successfully across the finish line!
I’m not just a guy who runs a lot, (though that’s true). For 17 years I owned gyms in both Bellevue and Beatrice, Nebraska where I was a trainer and running coach. I sold those gyms in 2021 and have continued as a running coach here in Lincoln, Nebraska where my wife and I live, play and have raised our family for almost 30 years. I have experience running and coaching at distances from 1 mile up to 50K. I have coached clients to achieve their fastest times at 1 mile, 5K, 10K, half-marathon, marathon (including multiple Boston Marathon qualifiers) and various triathlon distances.
Having been an athlete through high school and college, my most notable running and endurance achievements have come since my late 30’s. I’ve conquered 50K, the world famous Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, numerous half marathons, half-iron triathlons, Colorado’s infamous Triple Bypass bike ride (120 miles in one day over 3 mountain passes), multi-day bike rides covering hundreds of miles, dozens of 5K, 10K and triathlon distance events.
I’m blessed to be married to my amazing wife, Lori, for 30 years! In 2023 we climbed a Colorado 14er together to celebrate our 29th anniversary! (true story😊) In 2024 we hiked the Hornstrandir Nature Reserve in northern Iceland with our family to celebrate our 30th! We have two adult children. Our son, Trey, was a collegiate distance runner and continues to compete in local and regional marathons and half marathons. His wife, Anna, (my daughter-in-law) was a collegiate sprinter, now turned recreational distance runner, and ran her first half marathon in 2021, and first marathon in 2024. (boom!) And our daughter, Thea, is also a former collegiate distance runner at the NCAA Division III level and continues competing as part of the local running community. You might say that running “runs” in the family!
Send me an email today for a free run assessment or for more information about my coaching services. I would be happy to have a no-obligation conversation over a hot cup of coffee. It’s on me!
